Qualifier: Shot 68-69--137 at San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, Calif., on May 6
At 15 years, 105 days, the Chowchilla, Calif., resident is the youngest competitor in this year's U.S. Women's Open Presented by Ally. Talley, whose first name means Little Star in Greek, will compete in her first U.S. Women's Open after shooting 5-under-par 137 to garner the second and final spot from the San Joaquin Country Club qualifier in Fresno, Calif. It's been quite a 2024 so far for the high school freshman. Earlier this year, she won the prestigious Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, then finished eighth in the Augusta National Women's Amateur, just a few weeks after being one of the 10 girls named to the inaugural U.S. National Junior Team. She then attended a USNJT camp at Atlanta Athletic Club and then traveled to San Antonio, where she claimed the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball title with partner Sarah Lim at Oak Hills C.C. In 2023, she captured the Rolex Girls Junior Championship, one of the major events on the American Junior Golf Association circuit. She also represented her country in the 2023 Junior Solheim Cup in Spain, and advanced to the Round of 32 of the 2023 U.S. Girls' Junior. A year earlier, she reached the Round of 16 in the U.S. Girls' Junior at 13 years of age. Talley already is inside the top 90 of the Women's World Amateur Golf Ranking.
