The 33-year-old native of Thailand earned her eighth U.S. Women's Open start by surviving a 3-for-1 playoff in Atlanta, Ga. She edged 2024 U.S. Women's Amateur and U.S. Girls' Junior champion Rianne Malixi and pro Kate Smith-Stroh at the Piedmont Driving Club. Suwannapura owns three LPGA Tour victories, the last coming in the 2024 NW Arkansas Championship in a playoff over Lucy Li. Suwannapura also won the Dow Championship in 2019 with past USA Curtis Cupper Cydney Clanton, and her maiden title came in the 2018 Marathon Classic. As an amateur, Suwannapura won the 2008 Hong Kong Ladies Amateur and the 2010 Malaysian Amateur Open. She turned professional in 2011. Suwannapura owns 11 worldwide titles, including the Hero Women's Open, an event co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the Ladies Asian Golf Tour.
