Qualifier: Shot 69-71 at Somerset Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minn., on May 22
The native Georgian will make her fourth U.S. Women's Open start, but first as a professional after surviving a 2-for-1 playoff with Jennifer Chang at Somerset Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minn. Tardy holed a 20-foot birdie putt on the fourth extra hole against the 2016 U.S. Girls' Junior runner-up. Tardy missed the cut in her three previous starts. Before turning professional, the former University of Georgia standout represented the USA in the 2016 Curtis Cup Match in Ireland. She also was the 2016 Southeastern Conference's Freshman of the Year. Tardy, a past winner of the Georgia Women's Amateur, enjoyed a standout season on the Epson Tour in 2022, earning more than $200,000 in 21 starts. She then finished second in the LPGA's Q-Series last fall to earn her LPGA Tour card for the 2023 season. Her lone professional victory to date is the 2021 Copper Rock Championship in Utah on the Epson Tour.
