S-17: Top 75 points leaders in the Rolex Rankings as of May 3, 2023
The Southern Californian will make her ninth start in a U.S. Women's Open after moving into the top 75 of the Rolex Rankings, thanks to her runner-up finish in the Chevron Championship. Yin lost a sudden-death playoff to Lilia Vu at The Club at Carlton Woods (Nicklaus Course) in late April. It was her second runner-up finish in a major after tying for second in the 2019 U.S. Women's Open at the Country Club of Charleston. Yin's only professional victory came in the 2017 Omega Dubai Ladies Classic on the Ladies European Tour. Yin enjoyed a decorated junior/amateur career that included a runner-up finish in the 2015 U.S. Girls' Junior at Tulsa (Okla.) Country Club and qualifying for the 2012 U.S. Women's Open at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis., as a 13-year-old. In 2011, she won the California State Women's Amateur, the same year she was the youngest competitor in the U.S. Women's Amateur at Rhode Island C.C. She also represented the United States in the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup. Two years later, she was a captain's pick for the Solheim Cup by Captain Juli Inkster. The long-hitting and charismatic Yin also competed in the 2019 Solheim Cup.
