Qualifier: Shot 66-69--135 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, N.C., on April 30
Stephenson will make her fifth U.S. Women's Open start, but first since tying for 30th in 2021 at The Olympic Club after sharing medalist honors in the Greensboro, N.C., qualifier at Starmount Forest C.C. She posted a 36-hole total of 9-under-par 135. Stephenson turned professional in 2018 after a stellar amateur/college career that first began at Clemson University (one season) and concluded at the University of Alabama after two seasons. She had a memorable quarterfinal match against teenager Chia Wen Yu in the 2017 U.S. Women's Amateur at San Diego Country Club, losing in 30 holes (12 extra holes), the longest 18-hole match for any USGA championship. The following year, she lost a 23-hole semifinal match to Jiwon Jeon at the Golf Club of Tennessee outside of Nashville. In 2016, she qualified for the U.S. Women's Open as an amateur, missing the cut at CordeValle. Stephenson represented the USA on the victorious 2018 Curtis Cup Team and the winning 2018 U.S. Palmer Cup Team. She first qualified for the LPGA Tour in the fall of 2018 when she tied for eighth in the LPGA's Q-Series, and then made 11 of 20 cuts in her rookie season. She currently is playing on the Epson Tour, where she had two top-10s in three starts, including a tie for fourth at the Atlantic Beach Classic.
